Corporate Work Injury

Cooperate and small companies alike lose hundreds of man-hours due to sick days.

Rising levels of workplace stress has caused a massive hike in the number of days lost to employee sickness. That`s according to the Health and Safety Commission (HSC).

Blaming the `stress culture` at work in UK firms, the HSC said employees were increasingly taking time off because managers are showing a reluctance to help `sufferers`. The average time taken off to recover from work-related illness has risen to 23 days a year.(HSC 2003)

In total, an estimated 40.2 million working days were lost due to work-related illness and injury - 32.9 million due to illness and 7.3 million due to injury. Of days lost due to illness, 13.4 million were attributed to stress, anxiety or depression and 12.3 million to musculoskeletal disorders, or MSDs (disorders affecting muscles and joints). An estimated total of 1,126,000 people suffered from MSDs, while a further 563,000 were affected by stress. Over the 12 months, there were an estimated 265,000 new cases of stress. It doesn’t take a genius to realise that an employee of work of any level means reduced output and decrease profits. One day could lose you £200-£2000 average and if HSC puts the average at 23 days it could mean each employee could cost £4600- £46000 to the company.

Any company on our corporate scheme is promised a 24 hour response time (Monday to Friday), reduced time off by staff, tracking why and how injuries occur and advise / review on how to stop them in future. (This is an annual service, cost dependant on size and depth of report)

It doesn’t matter if your company has four employees or 400, your staff matter and if they are working they are building your business, functioning in society and creating a better work place.

Staff Rewards

Throughout the year staff and employers work hard to create a good environment in which to work efficiently and happily.

Often rewards come in small bonus or not at all. Our suggestion is to reward your staff with a luxury massage or session of reflexology, if they are sporty a consultation with our Sports Psychologist or Sports massage therapist. Perhaps Indian head massage or simply a voucher for them to choose.

We can set up regular rewards schemes for you or one off vouchers, Christmas, birthdays or Valentines. Tell us and we would be happy to oblige.
