Psychotherapist & Counsellor

Is this for you?

You may be going through a particularly difficult time; you may be feeling lost in your life; or you may just feel the need to talk and be heard. Whatever your specific circumstances, I feel that being offered a safe and non-judgemental space to just be who you are can be helpful and healing for most people, and that is what I can offer.

My approach

Psychotherapy and counselling are talking therapies. I work primarily in a person-centred way, letting you take the lead and creating an environment of warmth, empathy and understanding, which helps pave the way forward in our journey together.

During our first session I will work with you to outline what it is you would like from therapy, and if you want, set some goals for outcomes you would like to see. You may not know at this point what you want from therapy but just feel the need to offload, and that is fine. Things are likely to become clearer as we progress.

We may use your family/relationship history to look at behaviour patterns and work on how to change these if they no longer work for you. We may work creatively using the imagination, art or your dreams to get a deeper understanding of your inner psyche. Please know that we would only employ these techniques at your own pace, and if you felt comfortable and willing to do so. The sessions are yours.

Experience and qualifications

With 15 years experience of working with adults from all walks of life, I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, working using a variety of techniques and approaches.

My background is mainly in the field of mental health, however I have worked in many different settings and seen clients from all sorts of backgrounds and circumstances.

I hold a post-graduate diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (the course is BACP & UKCP accredited) along with a degree in psychology.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical practices. I also have regular clinical supervision.

Getting started

I offer a short telephone consultation free of charge which we can use to answer any questions you might have and to arrange a suitable time for our first session should you choose to book.

Sessions are 50 minutes at £50 per session, usually on a weekly basis (short-term or on going).

Please phone, text or email me directly to arrange a phone call at a mutually convenient time. I will always get back to you ASAP and certainly within 24 hours.
